if by "my ancestors" you mean the colonizers you would be absolutely wrong about the soap buddy. quite the opposite, colonizers (bunches of 15-30 yr/old peasants with no house training) arrived smelling like shit with rotting teeth and were shown how to use the environment to create soaps, tooth scrubbers, exfoliants and more. indigenous hygiene practices were actually very high standard given the lack of modern production
