People who abandon their ancient ass pets at a shelter always ask for pity for themselves, and reassurance that they shouldn’t feel guilty. Because they do feel guilty. But like they should feel guilty ykYeah 99% of the time I don’t think there’s any excuse. Unless you’re being placed in the hospital/a nursing home for an extended period or are physically unable to care for the pets, you can almost always find a way to work around it. I know because I’ve always done it. It makes a little harder with housing but it’s either that or give up someone I consider family so it’s not even a question
like you lived with this animal it’s whole life and now that it’s on its deathbed you abandon it? i think we should ostracize these people. not only does the animal not understand what’s happening, but it’s living out its most painful and tiresome days cooped up in a cage with very little chance of being adopted since most people don’t want to adopt an animal that’s about to die
