like 10 newly elected senators (maybe 11 or 12), from blue and typically red states. roughly 20% to 25% of all dem senators were just elected and dont want status quo schumer. but fuck me man nobody understands governing like the establishment candidates that have a 2% approval rating and will die in their seats

Based on Senate democrat rules, you also have to take into account the 4 outgoing senators who are retiring, they get a vote and the senator-elects only get a vote by invitation from the leadership
