Do conservatives not realize that the reason communism didn’t work is because it always fell back into authoritarianism?? Like what’s happening in the US rn isn’t any better either 😭

Authoritarianism bad. Trump bad. That said, I’d take Trump over Mao, Stalin, Lenin etc. every day of the week. Theres different levels of bad.

I do believe it an important lesson of history to study the oppression exacted by the KGB. That trauma was felt for decades by millions and there may be a day in the future when that conversation can be had dispassionately and with nuance like we both seek.

When that day comes, we look to free market capitalism and acknowledge a death toll and spree of oppression that started 300 years before Marx was even born, and still harms the globe to this day.
