You cannot tell me that having the means to revolt is a bad idea. Idk maybe more liberals should pull their heads out of their asses and realize that political violence is sometimes justified, even necessary, to protect democratic ideals.

In theory it does protect freedoms, theory doesn’t account for the gun owners wanting to be oppressed however

Sure I can because it’s not feasible. The FBI will kick ur door in long before you organize an armed revolt. The power installed can than justify increasing military incursions of rights based off your threat and we lose the true rights that matter of speech and voting.

Odd how when revolutions happen the gun laws don’t actually matter…revolutions still happen.

I’ll ignore possibilities of a generalized revolt and just ask you this: How exactly did democratic institutions like speech and voting stop the rise of Nazism in Germany?

They didn’t. Guns still flowed into Europe in mass despite the bans though. That’s my point…resistance will find ways to get guns.

That’s just factually wrong. Revolutions typically start with domestically-acquired weapons, not foreign weapons. And external aid is not a reliable source of arms. And to another point, if the flow of guns will never cease, why would we ever want to drive arms trade underground instead of keeping it above-board and regulated? That’s a terrible idea.
