Isn’t it crazy that the Russian earthquake last week cased a 500 year dormant volcano to erupt again? (Along with like 7 other volcanos seeing heightened unrest)
The quake was so big that they’re doing research to find out why exactly the pacific didn’t get major tsunamis bc that should’ve happened

It seems like mutnovsky and kambalny are decreasing in unrest/eruptive rate over the past few days so hopefully it just opened up fractures above their magma chambers and not the deep crustal one that feeds them all

From what I’ve seen there may have been tsunamis the right size, but just in very remote places.
I think the depth of the earthquake plays a role too. I think this was like 2-3x deeper than the 1950s 9.0 one a few miles away
