Regardless unfortunately it's a very predatory business to be in. It prays on poor people and young people and keeps them there forever. It does unfortunately hurt a large population and legislation keeping rent from maxing out would allow people to buy houses again.

That’s okay i worded it badly. She wanted to implement an unrealized gains tax that would have forced them to pay an annual property increase tax on properties they were not intending to sell. This would have severely hurt people in places like California who cannot afford the prices of their homes and only own them because they inherited them.

My parents were born during the Vietnam recession buddy. They made their money through the early 2000s which was also during a RECESSION. They lost everything they owned when the government bailed the banks out and didnt pay them the money they owed for the jobs they had done for them. Now they have built their way back through the land they own. And it isn’t houses they own. It is private forest land. Land that, if you had your way, would be given to someone who would bulldoze it and..
