“Trump can’t be worse for Palestine than Biden” was one of many poorly aged theories from this election

“Harris will just as bad for the Palestinians as Trump” she’s the only one who acknowledged the injustice and suffering…

she qualified every acknowledgement of suffering with israel has a right to defend itself as they were in the middle of leveling entire neighborhoods and starving people. being better than the dude who said finish the job was the bare minimum. if she wanted people to take her seriously, she should’ve endorsed an arms embargo

i voted for harris but her rhetoric on gaza was grotesque and she had every opportunity to distance herself from biden and israel and choose not to. dems need to change their tone if they ever wanna win back the voters they lost

well yes it still wasn’t great, but it was better than trump and people didn’t want to acknowledge that simple fact. republicans will win from now on because people expect democrats to be perfect and refuse to vote for them unless they are. sad fact and reality, but people complain about trump and fascism, but won’t vote for the party who is better. even slightly better is still better. one step forward or destroy democracy and people would rather not vote at all than vote for democrats.

like at this rate people just have to accept we’re gonna have a dictatorship because they don’t care enough to vote for the party who at least cares about the constitution. oh well.

so i’ll repeat: being better than the man who said “finish the job” was the bare minimum and kamala harris had every opportunity to help avert a trump dictatorship by actually listening to what her voters wanted and changing course accordingly. u can blame the voters all u want for being anti genocide but the fact is that kamala made an active decision to ignore the desires of key parts of biden’s 2020 coalition to her detriment

pls imagine if it was ur family, friends and colleagues being genocided. i highly doubt her both sides rhetoric would’ve been comforting for u especially when the biden policy (that she repeatedly gave diplomatic, rhetorical and political support for) was basically the same as trumps besides biden only supporting a partial military occupation of gaza rather than a full occupation under trump.

and I also repeat that bare minimum is still better than finish the job…. both not good…. never said I agree with any of it btw just said it’s a fact that one is slightly better than the other

I haven’t seen convincing evidence that she lost because of her stance on Palestine. She lost because she didn’t discuss the economy enough. That was the most important issue of this election by a long shot

But the people who made Palestine their main issue in this election believed that Gaza couldn’t possibly get worse. I told them that Trump would let Netanyahu do whatever he wants, including bombing the entire Gaza Strip, giving them a blank check for any weapons they wanted, and letting him annex the entire strip. They claimed that was already happening, which was patently false. Now it’s *actually* happening, and you’ll get deported if you criticize Israel for it

The PA senate election probably would have helped significantly if even some of those Green Party voters voted for democrats instead. But now there’s another red seat in the senate. There have been confirmations and votes where one more Dem seat would have been crucial

yes the bare minimum is better but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be sufficient for a lot of people. kamala had the capacity to do more, and chose not to. once again, you wouldn’t find her rhetoric sufficient if it was your family. genocide and harder genocide isn’t really much

If it was my family, I would have voted for the least harmful yet viable option. Not voting or voting for a third party candidate when my family’s life is on the line would be especially silly

i don’t know how else to tell you that genocide vs harder genocide is barely a choice for people. kamala could’ve won back those voters with an arms embargo

I saw that study, and I still don’t see any evidence that this margin would have changed the result of the election. It said “more likely” but should have asked it in a “yes/no” format. There were also tons of Muslims in Michigan who voted for Trump instead because they thought he would be better than Harris

You can mute this if you want. She lost because she didn’t talk about the economy enough. That was a key issue for many people in this election — not Gaza. The study you’re citing focuses on a specific subset of Americans (Biden 2020/other 2024 voters) and doesn’t necessarily reflect the entirety of the country. The average voter did not have Palestine as their top priority. The majority of this country still doesn’t think a genocide is even happening

stop defending the democrats. shouldn’t it be damming that they’re unwilling of do essentially anything to actually try to win? be so fucking for real if they didn’t force an already unpopular, widely disliked candidate on us, who refused to disavow literal mass murder, maybe we’d have won. nobody is entitled to win the presidency. the dems already did this before with clinton. being better isn’t enough, people need something to vote FOR not just against if you want good turnout

bros that’s why I said republicans will win from now on and we have to accept the dictatorship like presidents we get from now on because democrats will never be perfect so they won’t get anyone’s votes. idk why you don’t wanna hear that like ok go protest and see how that stops republicans from winning lol im pro-palestine for crying out loud, but again, bare minimum is better than get the job done. that’s just facts

this is a stupid point. if the democrats continue to (intentionally) run awful candidates and lose rather than shift left even a little, then we deserve what the republicans are gonna do to us. i hope he persecutes the leadership of the DNC

Wooooo! Certainly LGBTQ+ deserves to be reduced to LG! Children deserve to have their healthcare taken away! Fuck the food banks! I didn’t get everything I wanted so I think minorities should suffer! At least my moral conscience is clean (through Olympic-level mental gymnastics)!
