Ok I’m not finding conclusive numbers (I was doing COVID vaccine as a benchmark 🤷🏻‍♀️) right off the bat and I’m sleepy so I’m gonna take a nap instead of pursuing this

Or because our country is too big for trains

okay but that literally doesn’t make sense. how could a country be too big for trains?

Because you have to allocate recourses to make tracks along with building through natural environments like mountains and forests. The U.S isn’t a giant super flat world from Minecraft. Also the amount of trains that have to be running at the same time to go across country regularly is a lot too. Did you not take U.S history?

okay first of all how come we don’t have trains in the midwest like kansas etc? a lot of this country is super flat lol. also pretty much every country ever disproved this, like a lot will literally build their trains through buildings because public transportation actually increases productivity as well as quality of life

Tf you mean America is too big

Because building trains through their country is like us building a train through Wisconsin. You’re comparing countries a fraction of the size of us

sorry you’ve been given crippling anxiety so you’re afraid of interacting with people on public transportation but the rest of us are normal and appreciate the convenience. also roads in this country were objectively used to as a form of segregation through making cars infinitely easier to access if you were rich/white

If public transportation was more a convenience than cars and plans the OP wouldn’t have asked why they don’t exist when they do

because car manufacturers become extremely wealthy when they force everyone to buy their cars in order to survive? trains would hurt their profits by decreasing car reliance. they have continually lobbied against trains. it’s what elons hyper loop was, he admitted he never intended to actually make it he just didn’t want cali to start building trains

You do realize we already do have super long stretches of train tracks in place? We just need to upkeep them better and get faster trains. You can already get a train from NY to Miami but it’s like 48 hours. You can even get a train from Chicago to LA, it just takes forever

It takes forever because taking Chicago to La is the same as taking a train straight to Europe
