Hasan Piker has no credibility at all šŸ’€ He got stopped by police in China for being suspected of having a phone background that disrespected Mao, then says that police in the west are worse 😭 That’d be like getting stopped for the JD Vance memes šŸ„€

I’d rather have that then them brutalizing the people they’re supposed to protect

i feel like china is so intrinsically culturally different from the west it can’t be judged through western concepts of liberty

you can see how getting arrested and held hostage for having a photoshopped image of JD Vance would be better than not getting arrested for that?

Because that’s what the outcome would be if you got arrested for that in China but for Mao šŸ’€

yeah because a dictatorship that doesn’t let you criticize someone who directly caused the deaths of tens of millions of people is sooooo liberated

i would not like that in the united states no

Quite literally the only reason people the same age as us in China don’t criticize their government or history is because they’re purposefully not taught about it and everything is hidden. There’s nothing liberating about that

No I’m referring to the Great Leap Forward that killed tens of millions, but yeah they’re also not allowed to learn about the Tiananmen Square Massacre either

It would be like if the US taught about the 1800-1900s without ever discussing slavery, racism, or the treatment of natives

So would you excuse Germany if they said ā€œyeah Hitler was mostly right but there’s definitely some stuff we disagree withā€?

In reality his policies killed more people than both Hitler and Stalin but a lot of people don’t know that even outside of China

The only difference is that Hitler was a lot flashier. He caused a war and put people in death camps that we’ve discovered a lot about. Without the war and invasion of his occupied land, we wouldn’t know. Same reason a lot of people don’t know about the camps the current Chinese government is using for people now

I will say tho, you have to be careful with videos or stories like that about stuff going on the US right now. There’s a loooooottttt of faked and acted out clips and news circulating around, especially of ICE agents and police

No it’s true. Theres also proof that ICE has gotten funding to start surveillance of people’s social medias.

Can you find the clip or news article you saw that in? I’d like to see it too. Also yes I know about the 2nd part, but I still will hold firm that it’s not nearly as bad as China. Two wrongs don’t make the other wrong right šŸ’€

The fact that you’re even able to post this statement online is proof that we’re not as bad as China right now
