Uber was entirely subsidized by private equity for years. Drivers still got paid. Movie theatres were unprofitable for years. They still got paid. Labor is always worth money bozo

“subsidized by private equity” are you slow? They pay so they can get *equity* or shares of the company and achieve a return on investment. The WBNA has not returned any investment to the NBA. I’m not saying it can’t or won’t - it likely will. Simply, the WNBA generates less money than the NBA, therefore the players get paid less

This is also stupid. Corporations love to make profits more than they like to lose money. They would not even be a league without the profits generated by the NBA, and therefore are getting paid less. It’s not complicated.

WNBA sponsors players, like CC and her Nike deal that's with 43 times as much as her WNBA contract. There are players without WNBA contracts getting paid 10x what they would have got. They money is there for the league, its just better for the NBA owners to generate a loss. They won't have to pay the players and they get a tax break. No billionaire would intentionally ruin that just to pay people.

yes dumbass and it generates Nike enough money to justify it. same for every single sponsorship every single player gets and there is a fuck ton of them. The popularity is there, there is profit available. Its just so much better for them to not try. Its simple business.

Huh, so the players are getting paid, or not? When Nike pays a player it’s to generate revenue for sneakers. They are already profitable. The WNBA, however, pays it’s players some amount. With these obligations, they are not profitable. So therefore, the league is not profitable, and it cannot afford to pay it’s players more. These are not the same thing.
