What’s the best way to study the Israeli Palestinian conflict? I read primary sources like the Balfour declaration and Ottoman land code of 1858 then secondaries like Intro by Gregory Harms. The info is scattered in my head but can’t retain it

I think the best way is to assume a point of view, study sources from that POV, and then switch to the opposing POV, study sources from that one, and then cross-reference. Since the information on both ends is admittedly quite colored by the propaganda of either side. I have a strong stance on this issue, and I have looked at it from the other end. I still hold a strongly pro-Palestine stance, and I researched from Israel’s POV first as a political scientist.

A true historian would try to find EVERY major POV, and study the issue from every possible angle, but I don’t think that’s necessary for the average interlocutor.
