Full grown adults will look at you with a straight face and tell you they voted for donald trump bc of the economy😭😭😭

They genuinely don’t know better. They go home, watch game shows or reality shows, do crossword puzzles, and absorb whatever Facebook throws at them. If all they see is a bunch of bots saying “Trump will absolutely fix the economy the likes of which the world has never seen, America first” then that becomes their reality.

Some people just don’t have that instinct. Some people also just don’t have the time. Some people literally do nothing but wake up, go to work, come home, eat, go to sleep, then go to work again. Some people don’t even get a weekend. And they still can’t afford any level of luxury. And they get gaslit into thinking that’s because of the democrats and immigrants, instead of the dirtbags who pay them in with spare change instead of a living wage.

I was gonna say this too #4. I don’t know a single conservative that doesn’t think k reality TV is sad and depressing and abhor it (as a conservative myself, I know mostly other conservatives)… ESPECIALLY young people. You’d have to be insane to think conservatives are watching fucking Love Island 😂

You’re image of a conservative sounds like my 70 year old grandma who sits at home all day watching reality TV, sports, and spamming Facebook reposts from AOC, Nancy Pelosi, etc. that doesn’t not accurately depict the majority of conservatives. Remember, a lot of our generation voted for Trump too, I promise you we’re not all just ignorant and misinformed 😃

Yeah, I suppose it’s difficult for me to put myself in their shoes. I have a degree in political science, went to law school for a year, and work in the news currently, so I am constantly fact checking everything, even the things that don’t seem like they matter. It’s just something that’s so ingrained in my thinking now that I can’t imagine not doing it. But even before it was required of me for my job, I’ve always had the drive to understand everything as much as I can.

I also completely get being legitimately too busy to care or have the time to care. And unfortunately, a lot of people don’t get the privilege of education, so everything ends up being taken at face value. I truly wish we could see through the facade of this manufactured right vs left war and realize 90% of us are getting fucked, regardless of party

I sure hope so. I thought the tariffs would be that breaking point, but it hasn’t seemed to sway Trump voters much :/ it also sucks that this seems to be the only way to help them realize he’s not only not helping the economy, but actively tanking it. A disturbing number of people will be very hurt by this all

No I haven’t seen a twitter account that stans a reality TV show… I’m familiar with the concept like people who are obsessed with Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande but I’ve never seen what you’re talking about. Also if twitter were an apt measuring stick for reality the US would already be Nazi Germany with the way people talk about minorities on there.

I am getting ready for work so sorry I can’t come up with a whole nother issue off bat, but I’m really just trying to create some common understanding within the parties because liberals tend to assume republicans do everything out of hatred instead of just having our own formed opinions the same as you. yeah what you said just literally isn’t true though? the BBB kicks off millions of qualified people and cuts hundreds of thousands of healthcare jobs. those cuts alone are economically devastating. how exactly are you building up the economy by stealing billions from taxpayers, throwing up your hands and saying “yeah the billionaires will figure it out for you, trust”

regarding the handmaid thing, that’s literally what you are. it doesn’t matter what you believe, if you’re a woman (which you implied you are), the people who control the GOP want you in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant 24/7, they want your husband to decide who you vote for, they want to turn back the clock to 50 years ago when women couldn’t even get their own bank accounts most of the time. the GOP is dominated by insane fundamentalist christians whose goal is a theocratic ethnorepublic

No one’s going to force me to have babies, and I don’t plan on it. Babies aren’t something I see in my future, and I understand how to prevent that from happening. I think this is some heavyyyyy fear mongering that I do see a lot in social media which is why I try staying away from it as much as possible. From both sides, but especially from the left

how didn’t i? you said nothing of substance, you literally just said “oh private companies will magically handle this” as though private insurance companies don’t run AI death panels and ruin tens of thousands of lives annually. you also don’t present and evidence of anything being done to encourage that expansion. saying “oh yeah this will happen” with no plan or even process by which it would happen isn’t an argument. you’re clearly demonstrating your lack of critical thinking…

That’s not at all what I said, I explained that having more private insurance companies will help wait times go down in the US if we invest into them, and we can’t have Universal Healthcare like Sweden because we have way too big of a population. And things like getting rid of Medicaid is fear mongering that Trump has said he’s not going to do since day one

They are quite literally trying to do that because America’s birth rate is declining. Except they fail to realize it’s declining because there are hardly any resources for anyone to feasibly start a family, people are scared of suffering a miscarriage or needing a medical abortion and not being able to access it, the economy is in shambles, etc., not because no one wants to have kids. I know too many people who desperately wanted kids and that hope slowly died out over the years

It’s just not feasible to have a kid anymore, so the GOP thinks the remedy for that is to strip abortion and pregnancy prevention access and most horrifyingly, force women to become incubators like we saw in Georgia.

How do private insurance companies reduce wait times? They’re literally the cause of all the problems in US healthcare. We have a bigger population. We also have a far bigger economy. A universal healthcare system would literally save us money, it would cost less per person than we currently spend on healthcare. The BBB literally gets rid of medicaid for millions of people. It’s not fear mongering dude… he just lied. Like he has a thousand times before.

We’ll never have universal healthcare at this rate, considering one of our biggest contributing populations is being deported en masse. It would easily be realistic if we kept undocumented immigrants here who willingly contribute billions in taxes that they will never see any return on.

I mean you could easily make up the difference (and give them a path to citizenship and healthcare too) by just closing the tax loopholes and taxing the rich.

Having undocumented illegal immigrants in the country only adds onto the wait times and overpopulation we were experiencing the past 4 years with apartment rates skyrocketing. Personally my rate went up $200 in two years with Biden due to the amount of illegal migrants we were getting here. Like I was saying, that’s why it doesn’t work like Sweden. We have too many people. And really? Taxing the rich more? I believe in equality, and I think if you’re living the American dream making money then

The percentage of tax you’re said to pay should be about the same across the board. Billionaires spend a lot of fucking money in taxes each year but for some reason it’s never enough for you guys because you want us to be solely reliable on rich peoples money, even though it’d run out pretty quick seeing that it takes all of our help in taxes to keep us afloat. We can’t just rely on 1% of people, and they do already pay a fuck ton

billionaires mostly pay no taxes… they pay less than you and I. they write the tax codes. no, everyone shouldn’t pay the same, because frankly nobody should have a billion dollars, and in order to get a billion dollars you have to ruthlessly exploit others. as such, the least they can do is pay to undo some of the immense damage they do to society. your rent went up because your landlord is a greedy parasitic fuck, not because of immigrants.
