democrats not critiquing or being skeptical of their own party bc “anything is better than republicans” makes them just as bad as republicans who don’t critique their own party.

I mean I voted for a mf Libertarian for my Congressman because there wasn’t a Democrat on the ballot and I was on my anti-Republican ticket

Also, I criticize Democrats all the time, but none of my critiques of Democrats come even close to my issues with the Republicans. I’ll begrudgingly vote for a Democrat I don’t love over a Republican I hate.

as long as you can see beyond “well at least they aren’t a republican”, recognize their flaws and hold them accountable for it, then that’s exactly what i’m looking for. blindly following what democrats say for the sole purpose of getting one over on republicans doesn’t do any of us good.

I mean I’ve deep canvassed for Democratic campaigns before, and deep canvassing involves long conversations with people who don’t agree with you on everything, I’ve heard and agreed with critiques of my employer at the time, but then been able to be like “well here’s our opponent’s stance, and I think that’s even worse for reasons x, y, and z” without claiming the guy who I’m running with is PERFECT or beyond reproach.
