Idk about the whole “they’re not people” part… they use that same phrase towards us…. Best to not stoop to their level.

See that’s literally fear mongering, I take care of this mass of growing cancer when they wind up in the hospital for their fifth UTI, there are dangerous individuals and groups but dehumanizing them will only make them worse, because it gives them a singular identity and tbh a lot of them hate each other. We need to pluck the weeds not burn the garden.

Is it fear mongering when they committed 100 percent of all deadly extremist incidents between 9/11 and 2017 including right wing Islamic terror? Me saying they’re dangerous seem fair.

It kind of is.. you’re stooping to their level, this is like when they use statistics to clump people together into groups to blame. A lot of them are just scared, stupid, or both. Dangerous?… yeah some of them. Just in different ways.

What’s misleading about these statistics?

Well for starters you’re putting the cart before the horse, a majority of extremists are right wing groups doesn’t mean a majority of right wing people are extremists. There’s also the fact that people with right wing views are more likely to be religious fundamentalists, have more access to fire arms, and less access to education and mental health care. Over all, I feel you are lumping a very dangerous group with a bunch of only somewhat dangerous at most people.

I don’t really like the idea of defending right wing anything, but I will not abide at all for any more “us vs them” nonsense

A majority of right wing people are extremists. If you voted for Trump, that’s an extreme right wing position.

upvote 5 downvote
user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> shazam 1w

And also, yeah. Right wing extremists are more fundamentalist and have higher access to guns with lower access to healthcare and education. you just described the reason that they’re like this. It’s not like I’m 13/50 posting, I don’t think it’s innate lmao

🪄
Anonymous replying to -> mushy.the.mushroom 1w

That’s not entirely the case, remember how I said a lot of right winged people hate each other? You’re not accounting for the number of people who voted because they didn’t want a democrat, or voted because they ignored warning signs. Why else do you think so many right winged people are currently hating on trump? They feel betrayed!

Then what exactly do you think we should do about this?… the reason I brought those up is to show that there are solutions that are still humane and diplomatic

Well for one you should buy a gun.

Lock it up, keep it with a neighbor, you just don’t wanna be the only guy without a gun if a right wing group attacks.

Maybe long term. We’d have to reconstruct our education system and healthcare system and all that. But these people are poisoned and a lot of them really can’t be helped. And I fear they will poison their children as well.

I’ve treated the poison, hell I myself used to be super right wing, like full on “immigrants bad” “trans people are mentally ill” right wing, but I got a new perspective because of the people I’ve talked to. After leaving the echo chamber you become a totally different person.

Right but you’re an outlier. And I truly believe a good portion of our population isn’t capable of that level of introspection and have been indoctrinated to never be willing to be taught. We’d literally need reed camps man

🪄
Anonymous replying to -> mushy.the.mushroom 1w

Maybe I’m just an optimist but I think the fact that there can even be outliers means that there is still hope! Also no, no camps. Again we will NOT STOOP TO THEIR FUCKING LEVEL… fighting fire with fire will just burn the world.

upvote 1 downvote
user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> shazam 1w

So how do you propose we do mass reeducation then. Because we can’t. Every time this happens throughout history, nothing gets done about it. Because the only way to reindoctrinate fascists back into reality is camps lmao. If that even works.

upvote 1 downvote
🪄
Anonymous replying to -> mushy.the.mushroom 1w

We simply poke holes in the echo chamber. That’s what brought me back from the right wing pipeline. We show their idols for the frauds they are, we show them kindness from places they were taught were sources of evil, we remind them that the individual they’re fighting against has far more in common with them than the one telling them to fight. If we have an extreme reaction to extremism it will create extreme reaction. Sure the number of extremists might dampen but their indoctrination will

Only deepen. We need to go after the ones indoctrinating, not the indoctrinated.
