welllllll even so, they’ll still tell their voters that they handled it instantly. i think they started in LA tho because of how LA is historically known for protests and riots in the past, they wanna tell potential protectors in other cities “yeah we did that to LA, so don’t think about protesting anywhere else”

Tbh, and I know you are going to tell me Im wrong, LA loses short term AND long term. The demonstrations that started in 2020, which lasted about a year if I remember correctly, had mainstream support from media outlets, huge donations, and advocacy from people in office. I cant say the same this time around.

Nah I don’t disagree like la loses short term with the damage and long term with the pr my thing is that in terms of actual engagement with the protesters, la wins, bc la will fight back or die trying and that’s a win for them either way. If they beat down la they’ll only get pr in states that wouldn’t rebel in the first place, when they need submission from states that would be emboldened by la

The purpose of it all was to stop the deportations. If the marines and all that are able to keep the deportations going in spite of la’s efforts then la fully loses. In that case, they didnt win nor did they go down as martyrs. Tbh I think the fires and breaking up all that stuff is going to be the priority over the deportations so its unlikely.

These LA protests weren’t ever going to stop the deportations tho, so no they didn’t lose in that regard. The protests were supposed show that the American people are approaching the end of our patience, and while this one may have fallen on deaf ears there absolutely will be more. It’s a bit of a signal for everyone across the country that were getting angry at our situation

The protests are to also to show the cops and military where American people stand on the issue, and considering they will be the ones to enforce corruption and illegal orders, we want them to know that we will NOT just stand by and that we’re watching them and holding them accountable

Sorry to break it to you but most Americans don’t view any of the deportations as illegal and these actions taken are 100% going to push people towards being pro deportations over pathway to citizenship.

If you don’t view illegally revoking legally acquired permission to be here, then the kidnapping of said legally here people to foreign prisons as wrong, then you don’t hold American ideals. Yes there have been valid arrests and deportations but the number of people that are being picked up by unmarked vans without any due process or actual confirmation that they are doing anything illegal is appalling and a very real current event. It’s undeniable that these illegal arrests ARE happening

Like it isn’t a matter of what American think, it’s a proven and undeniable fact that there have been illegal deportations happening in increasing numbers, and the stances taken by the current administration consist of denying it and then saying they can’t do anything about it. Please for the love of god don’t just take my word either and look it up for hard evidence because it’s literally a google search outside of conservative controlled media away
