That 12B . Unlike the federal government, NYC has to balance the budget since they can’t print money. Mamdani claims that Eric Adams was severely underestimating the cost of essential programs.

I don’t think adams has denied that exact claim, instead just saying like “hey we inherited 10 billion in debt and did a lot of positive things” But given that he didn’t deny the deficit, I see no reason to be doubtful of Zohrans claim lol
