Oh fuck. I’m from DE so sales tax was a foreign concept to me until I went to college in PA lol. Food (unless it’s prepared or from a restaurant) and clothing isn’t taxed there

Yeah, we went to war because we didn’t want to pay taxes, but we wanted to keep spending England’s money to finance wars against indigenous tribes. Definitely about as American as it gets.
