My minor gripe is a little bit more civics/government but yeah most people weren’t paying much attention in school and then complain it wasn’t taught.

Depends on your state honestly. In the south the generally color history with a very different palette and leave out many facts

Taxes are notoriously hard to do and understand. It should at least be an elective for people who want more understanding considered it’s important once we’re older

It’s still important to understand skills needed for adulthood that some people have to learn the hard way. Even making an elective out of courses like that could be helpful

Well I do think financial literacy should be a mandatory course (many states have tried putting those measures to a vote but banks and lenders lobby against that) bc it’s not just about math but about the maze the banking and finance systems. I think a good extension of your point is that it really is just math and a bunch of jargon but banks and financial systems purposefully make things seem much more complicated to trap you
