I think about this every time I drive around and see fucked up infrastructure, like “we would have more than enough to fix this shit if we didn’t buy a plane with it or send it to israel”

Our military budget is excessive, but our spending in general is excessive. We spend $7.2 trillion annually. $921 billion goes to defense. Our deficit is over $2 trillion.

I’m speaking mainly to big cities (rural areas are a different box of frogs) but transportation, infrastructure, quality of life tech at restaurants/stores/hotels, etc. were all very impressive

Yeah military industrial complex, military planes use regular materials for the most part but military contractors up charge insanely
