You can’t convince someone to do something they don’t want to do by offering them what… the opportunity to buy a new yacht?
And if that person ever wants to go back on the deal and expose you for it, there’s nothing stopping them

I think in this scenario you’d usually have them do the thing and then you compensate them somehow. Or you know that they’ll feel indebted to you, or you have the opportunity to screw them over in the future

Again, moneys not as motivating if you already have everything you need. Like trump’s not gonna let Putin influence half his decisions as president just for a couple billion. He would however be more motivated by other threats

Trump is addicted to wealth and power, otherwise he would have no reason to launch his own crypto, sell pieces of his suit, and sell literally everything else with his name on it. Putin can decide whether Trump gets hotels in Russia or not
