We can’t just act like 9/11 isn’t a deeply disturbing day in our history. It’s very emotionally heavy to learn or talk about, so it’s a very natural thing to try to find something to laugh or smile about today. It’s not out of disrespect for anyone, it’s out of a will for remembering while also acknowledging where we’ve come since that day.
