I have to teach a voice lesson in like thirty minutes 😭 but my specialty is woodwinds. I’ve played a lot of them. All clarinet sizes you can reasonably get, saxes sopranino through bass, oboe, English horn, oboe D’Amore, flutes piccolo thru bass, bassoon, and even Sarrusophone

Woodwinds have always been my most difficult instrument, lotta respect specializing in them. And damn. You’ve really played a trillion woodwinds. That takes like, real skill. I just have a twinge of savant syndrome. I’m not really “skilled”, I can just sort of get how it’s supposed to go together, music wise. But that’s like. Skill. Woodwinds are fucking brutal.

I’m not amazing at any of them either but I’ve been paid to play four of them and I’ve taught all of them (except Sarrusophone) to some degree. And recorder. I have garklein through bass recorders but no opportunities to play them so they sit around in my office
