One would think it’s, idk, heart disease or cancer. Or hell, whatever new strain of Covid is unleashed upon us because bitches refuse to take preventative measures. But naw. Apparently it’s autism.

It’s Alzheimer’s. It’s the disease with the highest burden on Americans, it costs hundreds of billions a year and is more than cancer or heart disease

It’s not just killing ppl it’s also financially ruining their families, bc long term care isn’t covered by Medicare. Only special very expensive private insurance does and only part of it.

Unfortunately I do know that aspect, but that’s because Alzheimer’s and dementia run in my family. So I saw the financial and emotional impact for sure. I just wasn’t thinking of it because it’s not sudden, and it’s long lasting as fuck. You could be diagnosed at 60 and still live to 97.

Yup and long term care in my state costs 10k a month. They vacuum up every last penny you have until you have nothing and then qualify for Medicaid
