My most unironic belief that most people don’t give a fuck about is that it shouldn’t be legal to do infant circumcision. That is a completely cosmetic permanent surgery that you’re doing on an unconsenting baby wtf.

i believe there shouldn’t be a religious exception because what if the child grows up and decides not to follow the religion? now they’re stuck with their parent’s decision

Genital mutilation is not something I would choose, but I believe it is important in some religions so I would not ban it.

Nah not even religious. Religion shouldn’t allow you to do genital mutilation on infants. Do it when they’re able to consent.

it’s a big thing in judaism and islam, but it shouldn’t be allowed for christians. also, it should be banned until someone is 13 and understands what it is.

It’s just the fact that I’ll never know what that’s like yk? My dad is staunchly atheist but my mom’s side is pretty Christian. Actually having a hard time not holding resentment against my moms side of the family, they pushed hard to get me baptized and I just know they were the ones pushing for this

Yea that’s absolute bullshit I’m sorry dude. I have fundamentalists sm istg. I was lucky that both my parents were progressive so I didn’t get it. My grandma probably pushed to get me circumcised tho cause she’s Methodist. I really don’t know why we don’t include this more often in the topic of bodily autonomy. Cause why should children have less rights than adults?

Eh I don’t think k we should change the law for different religions that seems a bit weird with the separation of church and state. And tbh I could go as high as 18. I know very intimately how easy it is for parents to manipulate their kids to get them to do what they want.
