not really when the majority of men who think jane doe is lying is literally because of the sexual empowerment movement. they think we’re all a bunch of whores.

The rapist has the choice to not rape the person. Just because they’re dressed some type of way doesn’t mean that their dick magically gets forced out of their pants.

modern day “feminism” and actual feminism are two different things.

My question is, why the timing of this post? When everyone talking about gut-wrenching rape accusations and this is what you contribute to that conversation.

are you kidding? literally all the men i’ve fought with over this on twitter and irl are saying women are whores and we had it coming. that’s why i have this timing. the sexual empowerment movement has contributed to rape culture and the way men view women. ending purity culture is one thing, but it went too far. don’t say i didn’t advocate for this poor girl. you don’t even know me.

You think being anti-feminist is improving life for women? I fear you have fallen for propaganda.

“Modern feminism is bad and not real feminism” is an antifeminist sentiment based on fallacies idk what to tell you. Its word for word an argument incels and online right wingers use to erode women’s rights. I’m sure you’re well intentioned but you’re deadass repeating propaganda

What is your substantive criticism of “modern feminism?” Because all you’ve done is say that it’s to blame for misogyny which fundamentally doesn’t make sense, and then vaguely allude to it being “not real feminism.”

if you took a second to find out my intentions you would know i’m not trying to erode women’s rights by any means but you IMMEDIATELY jumped in to tell me im anti feminist without hearing what i had to say. you’re incredibly close minded and just wanna live in an echo chamber where you just hear what you wanna hear to fit an agenda.

sexual liberation doesn’t consider emotional consequences, social pressures, objectification or the possibility that young women are pressured into such behavior because they believe it’s inherently feminist to do so. choice feminism, particularly, doesn’t allow us to criticize certain harmful choices all because “she chose it” and therefore it is feminist. like a woman being a trad wife while still being called a “feminist” because she chose it. or a woman doing onlyfans which objectifies her

lastly, we are focused on the wrong issues. i really would like to see more advocacy about women being overprescribed birth control as a bandaid for larger issues that just get worse and worse (myself included) but then i just get called anti birth control even though i do agree we need it. so i really can’t win with yall can i?

which leads me to my last point, feminist rhetoric has become hostile towards legitimate disagreement. i’ve noticed it’s “all or nothing” and with any valid criticism i’m called a misogynist or a swerf rather than engaging with the discussion and seeing the underlying issues.
