watching republicans now say that gas prices are caused by world events and not the president, but refuse to acknowledge our president started this world event, so things are a bit different this time around, is beyond infuriating

How do we get people to think more critically? It’s so frustrating hearing people repeat the same talking points over and over

You guys do this too. It’s like both sides are portrayed as ignorant on the internet on purpose (probably political bots.)

Sooooo gas prices are determined by the president then?

It’s too complex to actually know what’s causing the changes

if our president starts a war that will impact gas prices then yes. if a war starts that our president did NOT start (ukraine and russia) then no. if a global pandemic effects supply chain issues and our president did not start the global pandemic then no

i've found that there's more real human republicans who do this than democrats, but definitely bots contribute a lot

I think of gas and grocery prices like a sail boat and the president is the captain, yeah he may not control the way the wind blows but he certainly steers the fucking ship. Unfortunately.😞

Like, how do they not see that they’re applying different standards to each situation?

no, it's not. when you bomb a country that controls a major shipping lane for oil, gas prices go up.

No Trump is purposefully doing inflationary actions while Biden responded to inflationary events, huge difference.

The gas prices shot up by an entire fucking dollar within a week of starting this shit with Iran and you’re gonna sit here and tell me the shit with Iran isn’t the leading cause of the fucking price jump? I think YOU might be at the peak of Mount Stupid.

That’s true but you forget to mention the war with Iran was inevitable. If we didn’t stop them and they nuked us gas would shoot up to $100 in one day and most of us would be dead

iran was not going to start a war with america. they’ve been preparing for 40 years for an attack from us first, they’re not dumb

their nuke would have to be very long range as well which is a whole different thing than just developing one. we’d also have ample time to intercept a nuke if for some reason they developed one capable of traveling 6,500 miles. the real country at risk of iran having nukes is israel because it’s much closer

And I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you if you’re actually buying that “weeks away from a nuke” line that the Iran War-Hawks in America and Israel have been spouting for 30 years. “Weeks away” they’ve been saying, for the last 1,560 weeks.

That rumor doesn’t just come out of thin air. Iran displayed itself as weak and helpless and look at how bad they overloaded our military

sounds like an israel problem and not an american one. israel has its own army, americans shouldn’t be fighting for them
