It’s because Christian-based laws have always slithered their way into our democracy, regardless of separation of church and state. Within the last few years, it’s been on full blast and gone full extreme. Trying to ban gay marriage, banning abortion, eroding trans rights, requiring the Bible to be taught in schools. And the group that opposes these laws at every turn is the left. Because they have no logical support for these laws other than their faith, it’s easier to just feign persecution.

It’s the “Religion is the opiate of the people” line of thinking. And it doesn’t help that most communist regimes burn churches.

That’s so weird bc I grew up in Catholic schools and that’s been a topic but we were taught to love gay people even if we don’t agree with them. Then the Catholic Church allows gay couple to get their marriage blessed even tho they can’t get married there

That’s kind of ironic considering that banning homosexuality and trans goes against Christian morals. It’s sad that they twist religion to their advantage but then again they’ve been doing that since the slavery days

Totally! There’s plenty of religious people with those views as well and leftists don’t have a problem with those folks. We have a problem with the folks who use their religion to justify hatred for others. The group that does that the most in the US is the evangelical right. The evangelical right also likes to act like they are the only true Christians so it would be an attack on Christianity. The evangelical right started the rhetoric
