Affirmative Action has been gone since 2023. It did not give minorities an advantage. What y’all thought Affirmative Action was is what legacy admissions are however since you all couldnt possible believe that black people could get into college over you,

You had to demonize a policy used to combat years of systemic racism while allowing legacy admissions.

They didn’t lower the bar. Affirmative Action basically is “between this white middle class person with a 4.0 and this poor lower class black person with a 3.9, we will take the black person because he was able to keep pace with this white person while having less resources. A black person with a 2.9 isnt getting in over a white person with a 3.6.

No it isn’t. 🤦🏿‍♂️ It’s evaluating on more than just GPA. Someone who has the resources to pay for a tutor, attend extra lessons is less qualified than someone who had to learn everything on their own without those resources.

Where are you getting this information from? What research has said this? Also you do realize that Affirmative Action is over right?

It was deemed unconstitutional because again people just couldn’t handle the fact that black people were getting into college while being disadvantaged. A person with resources getting a high GPA is not as impressive as a person with little to no resources having a high GPA. The person with little to no resources has to work harder and colleges realize that if this person is given resources he would put pace a person that already had resources to begin with.

taking a student with a 3.9 from a background with little to no resources or help over a privileged kid with a 4.0 is raising the bar. a student who can accomplish the same academic feats (albeit with a negligible difference) with fewer resources is a higher standard of student than one who only accomplishes things when the circumstances make it accessible
