And that criticism is literally incorrect. I would venture to say that most people on the left continue to genuinely care about the causes they support lmfao. Like no, as a marginalized individual I hold things like institutionalized racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, etc to be important at literally all times. I think this is projection.

This is a dumb ass criticism. You’re criticizing the linear flow of time right now. When a thing happens, people respond, people take up causes related to that thing. And then eventually, a new thing happens, focus shifts, new causes are taken up related to the new thing. That doesn’t mean people stopped caring about the first thing, just that there’s something else going on now.

If I was on the exact same shit today as I was on in 2023, or even 2025, that wouldn’t be a display of amazingly principled stances. That would be a display of being out of tune with the present. Stuck in the past. Everyone’s rhetoric and topics of conversation shift with time. The world shifts with time.
