I mean local news are still subject to their parent company’s narratives. There’s numerous clips of local Fox and CBS stations across the country saying the exact same line verbatim

I work at a local news station, so I can shed some light on this. The parent company isn’t CNN, Fox, CBS, etc. it’s an entirely independent company, each station just has rights to certain MSM content. However, it’s typically a lot more strict as far as getting both sides of a story, rewording things that seem biased from the MSM station, etc.

But if I’m trying to fill my show and in a time crunch, I’m absolutely going to copy and paste a script for something inconsequential, like a light hearted story that has nothing to do with crime or politics, or otherwise getting the facts straight. Unfortunately some station directors are lazy and don’t care if you rip off every single script. I haven’t experienced that yet, though
