Yeah of course this would be the ideal for every country, but not every country’s government is completely propped up by the United States. Israel would fold in minutes without American help, the same can’t really be said of other countries that practice theocratic rule. Like they didn’t ask him if he’s anti-Islamic Republic of Iran because America doesn’t prop up Iran.
I mean, if we’re going on “supporting” a country being “I hope your citizens live good and prosperous lives” then I’d say I support every country in the world. But that’s humanitarianism, not anything about the structure or policies of those countries, and usually when I say “country” I mean “state” as in their government.
I don’t support the Iranian or Israeli governments because they’re both theocratic in nature and I’m a secularist, but that doesn’t mean I wanna see their people suffer. I hope the average civilian in either of those countries lives a prosperous life, but that’s not a political statement that’s just good will.
