You should literally vote every November. Besides this special nutcase in the White House, local politics affects you way more than the president will most of the time.

Debating voting in the midterms. Voted ‘20, ‘22, ‘24 but I’m just so disillusioned. Nobody is seriously pushing for policies I want. The dem gov candidate said she’d legalize weed and that’s about it. Got my poli sci degree just to hate American politics

In general these midterms won’t change your life that much but they will punish the republicans and I think that just has to be done Otherwise they will not learn, they need to get a little burn so that they stop doing stupid evil stuff

Also both parties are capitalist parties and likely will never have GOOD policy but Dems will always have BETTER policy

Social democracy was a failed experiment in America and I doubt it will come back and last any longer than it did last time when the rich got tired of pandering to us

And even when we had the New Deal era, it was only being given to white people..

The new deal helped more than just white people. It was primarily aimed at white people, yes. That was a primary goal of the southern democrats at that time. But the policies of the new deal did massively help rural black and Native American populations, and was a massive part of why those groups shifted to vote Democrat.
