
The fact that they moved their leadership out is in of itself usually an indication that a company sees its long term future elsewhere. These are the kind of things it will take time to feel the effects of but surely as the sun will rise tomorrow NYC will feel them. I will say that because of the insane concentration of wealth in NYC they do have a much larger cushion than the rest of the country but don’t think that NYC can’t end up like Detroit did.
On the whole they’re really not though, there’s just some very vocal critics. The housing market is tighter than it’s ever been and the office vacancy rate is also really low. But yeah it’s hard and expensive to vastly expand headcount there whereas building in Texas is really cheap so that’s what a lot of companies are doing right now
