Religion holds back our society from advancement. My fear is religion having too much power over people. Pro life for example is a very religious take. If you think about pro life critically, those children will have terrible lives, often in the adoption system like myself. They're very closed minded.
My biological mom was a Jehovah's Witness, which before anyone says anything that is classified as a religion, specifically a Christianity denomination. No Christmas. No birthdays. No blood transfusions. No talking to people outside of religion. She went insane and is now homeless at 40.
She often hits me up for money, as a reminder I'm her son. I know that the religion did this to her. Once people are roped into religion they believe whatever the person of power in that religion is. I will never be religious, neither will my girlfriend. It's primitive and personally I see it as a coping mechanism. "God saved me" translation: "I turned to religion and it helped me".
