Yeah I’ll admit I have a problem with the term “cis”. I just find it irritating that I have to be categorized in a gender and/or sex I was already born into. It’s not the end of the world just annoying. Probably an ego thing i on my part or maybe I’m just not woke enough. Coming to terms with being a TERF I guess…
The difference between you and these people is they get their feelings hurt that they have to be in a category equal to trans people. To them, they’re the ‘normal ones’ and trans people are in a lesser box that should NEVER be confused with the default. Exact reason why they’d get defensive or very confused if they were asked if they were trans
I personally believe you, but jsyk referring to people as “a trans” is usually a thing anti-transgender people do to demean trans people by boiling their entire humanity down to that trait (and then proceeding to reject the trait). So most of us will get our hackles up when someone adds the definite article to “trans”. It seems like it was just a misunderstanding but hopefully that’s helpful to know in the future :)
