 There was a phenomenon in Japan in the 70s where parents would leave unwanted newborns in train lockers. It was done because of the cultural taboo around abortion. Makes me think about what could happen to newborns under an abortion ban in the US 💔

Like abortions are going to happen whether they’re legal or not, they’ll just be unsafe. Like DIY coat hanger shit. But some parents would be desperate enough to end up abandoning living babies outside of the womb. Under strict abortion guidelines or a full ban, more mothers AND more babies will die. It’s really harrowing framing your mindset that way.

something I always remember is that abortion literally saves lives. even if you count unborn fetuses as living, abortion saves lives. abortion is life-saving medical care, and the restrictions placed on it are currently and will continue to kill people.
