The government is shutdown but don’t worry! Trump will be getting his 250 million dollar ballroom (modern day Marie Antoinette)

Not even, she was a scapegoat for all the other people doing shitty things. The “let them eat cake” was just a rumor

An addition that he’ll only be around to see for a short time before being forced to leave the white house that isn’t funded by taxpayers? This is so far down on the list of things to be concerned about that its virtually a non-issue

Honestly I’m not as well versed in French history as I’d like to be so I have no idea if she was truly a “scapegoat” and was “good” in the grander scale of things but I did know that the “let them eat cake” phrase was fake cause the correct phrase would’ve been “let them eat brioche” I think

It was just literally never said, and she had her share of bad things, being known for spending a ridiculous amount of money on hair and wigs while taxing the poor for everything including windows. But also mistreating the third group in their government, which was the poor people. Which in turn make the tennis hall act (I forget the real name) and the whole revolution plus rein of terror afterwards

i was under the initial impression that he was paying for it himself, but upon further research he is paying for some portions of it, and the rest of the funds are donations by other companies. as for bribes… other presidents have done even worse things for money, so that argument isn’t really fair https://ground.news/article/white-house-begins-tearing-down-east-wing-for-trumps-250-million-ballroom_2e2f61

I genuinely appreciate you for doing research, no opinion is wrong. But it makes a conversation more educational and fun if you actually know what your talking about

Appears that YouTube is funding this project. As a settlement with a classic Trump law suit.

Just because other presidents had their own faults does not mean we should accept this kind of blatant bribery. Corruption is corruption, and we as a country should have standards.

marie antoinette never said the quote because she quite literally had NO idea to what level people suffering and starving, she overindulged in everything from clothing to plays to food to wigs and legitimately never thought enough about the people of france to even say anything about them
