Shames people for having normal human desires, discourages people from learning safe sex practices, and disproportionately shames women and queer people.

i think it becomes an issue when u try to impose it onto others and make them feel like they are less “moral” for having sex

How it’s viewed varies from person to person.

You’re allowed to do and feel whatever you want, but the second you start shaming others for not following your made-up rules, you have a problem. Purity culture stems from religious ideologies which tend to emphasize demonizing people who don’t participate in the culture and that does far more harm than good

It usually portrayed pre-marital (or queer, kinky, etc) sex as being something inherently sinful, rather than saying promiscuity or unprotected sex is unsafe.

Not necessarily. You can express your opinion and say you think it’s immoral but there’s ways to express that opinion so you come off respectful and not douchy
