I feel like it should be regulated and we need to put more research into making it more sustainable bc it’s VERY dangerous but honestly the rest of the non western world has hopped onto the train and there’s no stopping it.

So recently, a friend used Sora AI for some laughs. One prompt was flagged by the community policy. Apparently it was flagged because of ‘potential for fetish content.’ That’s been stuck on my mind as someone using their head regulating that kind of stuff. Or paid attention to the huge problems with deepfakes and put some rules down. Point being, what we look to regulate with AI is important. And there are some who have an idea of working on that.

We need to abolish it, not regulate it. Blow up the data centers

I mean sure but have you considered big magnets at the servers instead of explosives?

This is quite literally what was said about calculators 80 years ago. Catch up grandpa

Yes they did. Maybe you should go talk to people. Calculators were going to destroy society

Chances? All renewable resources (except maybe nuclear) use more fossil fuels and at current technology levels are as bad for our environment than just burning the fuel in the first place

I thought the main issue with that was manufacturing. Obviously battery technology being behind makes renewables pretty inefficient too. And I think Hydroelectric is pretty solid as a power source compared to wind and solar

Manufacturing, transportation, and disposal, plus the upkeep for wind turbines. REM extraction is one of my biggest concerns about all-electric. Nuclear will answer many of these issues, if/when we get there. And I didn’t consider hydro, but the upfront costs and resources needed are pretty restrictive. And that’s before NEPA

Calculators cant make videos of you saying/doing heinous shit. There are zero ways for a calculator to ruin your life

Calculators can falsifying data, but there’s a reason there are regulations and controls. The free market isn’t going to protect the people
