You’ve gotta be an absolute bozo to voluntarily tell the state you’re a risk and want to self-exclude yourself from a constitutionally protected right. This information would also 100% be misused. “Oh so xyz can’t trust themselves around a gun, why should we let them work at our company where we handle sensitive customer data?”

I don’t get it, what’s bad about this? It is basically saying I want to opt into a longer wait time to remove myself from the list It’s like downloading an app that forces you to wait before scrolling TikTok

I get your point, but this is the government we’re talking about. The same government that uses AI to monitor your vehicle driving patterns and gait. Once you start to deprive yourself of a constitutional right, I wouldn’t expect to get it back, or that it wouldn’t be applied elsewhere. What’s to stop them from taking this as a “high risk indicator” that prohibits you from being a pilot for example? Or a school teacher?
