A lot of people hate disabled people, leftists and progressives included. It’s very evident when they speak over disabled people who voice their experiences and specific needs, or refuse to discuss accessibility within progressive policies and ideals bc its perceived as “hindering moving forward” as it slows things down. It’s easy to advocate for wheelchair accessibility and mental health spaces. Real hard to acknowledge real life isn’t a “supercrip” inspiration porn trope

This is something I can personally back up. Yes, conservatives tend to be more explicitly hateful towards my disability, but liberals have actively made me feel way worse by virtue of them treating me as this helpless person who needs babying

Yeah. Liberals often still support the same eugenicist social engineering policies as conservatives when it comes to disabled people too. Like locking them away for their own good necessarily without consent by the government. Which they fail to realize is also a tool that can be weaponized and has been weaponized against minorities and political dissidents. California recently overwhelmingly voted to implement forced institutionalization

100%. I’ve had liberals flat out say “you’re not that disabled” just because my own disability isn’t very visible. Even if they do accept it, they don’t bother to see how I may be severely struggling behind the scenes. It’s all “well your disability isn’t an excuse for late replies” or “well I’ve never heard of [disability] being exhausting. That’s not a symptom” It’s classic liberal smugness and thinking you’re somehow know better than others. Every time
