They didn't shut the government down, stop perpetuating that myth. The republicans (majority party) refused to show up for work, compromise, or do literally anything to keep the government going. It was them.

I mean you’re also right. The democrats did not pass the CR in the senate. The republicans should reconvene congress and negotiate a bill that can pass both houses
