Conservatives when they are against a guy who is actually anti establishment and doesn’t have any ties to billionaires 😱

Ok as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of this guy…I respect him for not taking any money from large entities however, he is the farthest thing from anti establishment (he’s a socialist). Some could also argue he is being slightly hypocritical. He went to Bronx Science, a school which has received international recognition for its academic excellence. His mother is a Harvard educated and makes films which have been some of the most widely recognized in India, making her a multi millionaire.

How is someone being a socialist not anti establishment? Do we live in a socialist country or a capitalist country? Also there is a massive difference between a millionaire are a billionaire. They’re two different words for a reason

Because the establishment gains more control over institutions in a socialist society

Then how come all establishment institutions are rejecting him and freaking out over his victory?

That’s why I said slightly hypocritical. People make him out to be some poor immigrant with a tough path in life (making him an even more attractive candidate) but that’s not really. I like the fact that he’s an immigrant but let’s be realistic about how the process goes for someone who has that level of wealth vs someone who is in poverty.

Because he wants to change the current regime and turn the place into a socialist “utopia” and a lot of people don’t agree with that.

So if he wants to change the current regime as you say, then how is that anti establishment? You’re admitting right now he’s against the establishment

Because he is only anti the current establishment…he wants to do away with the current way of doing things and replace it with new institutions. You can view socialism as freedom from the capitalist environment making it anti establishment however I see it as trading some person economic freedom for the government running things at a larger level. The government IS the establishment.

It’s at least AN establishment.

Yeah, if you replace the old system then by definition you become the new system. Thats just how the world works. That doesn’t mean right now they’re not anti establishment. Again, almost all news outlets and government officials are freaking out over his win because he actually challenges his power

But then your gonna establish a society where the government has more control, something many anti establishment people disagree with at the most core level
