black people have higher rates of depressive symptoms but significantly lower rates of diagnosis/misdiagnosis unfortunately

Also mentally ill. Someone’s mental illness isn’t more valid than the other because they went through more hardships. Your enemy is not the white kids who have mental health problems. Your enemy is the same as us all, the ruling elite that keep us poor, depressed, struggling, and fighting each other so we can’t fight them

i don’t think they’re criticizing the mentally ill white kids they’re criticizing a society that gives white kids way more attention and understanding for their mental illnesses

I get that, but sharing that with this narrative really just pushes race war and class division when we really need to be pushing this narrative through some level of class consciousness. The points being correct and good can only get us so far, yaknow?

what narrative it’s just an accurate observation that US society gives more attention to white mental health. this tweet is just saying we should give just as much attention to the mental health of disenfranchised black youth and if that idea feels like something dividing that’s an internal issue

It doesn’t push any race war lol. Why would bringing up the mental illness of black people mean “fuck white ppl”. The comparison is to show that black people as a group do not receive as much mental health support as they need, which is true, and it’s because of SYSTEMIC racism. Which I also think is a result of capitalism. I’m a far-left socialist myself, which is why I think this discussion is important to have.

Systemic racism is different from individual racism btw, just look it up if you want to know the difference.
