you are correct he would be pretty dumb, which is why during his mayoral campaign he has never said he would defund the police. All quotes referencing him wanting to defund the police are from tweets in 2020 and 2021. He has multiple times called for police reform such as stopping police officer from working 60-80 hours because that’s 20-40 hours in overtime pay and people have taken that to say he wants to defund the police

there were tweets that conservatives use where he outright called for the defunding of police, technically all diverting of police funds to other systems is defunding the police. The way to do it is to create a new officer position that is just a social worker with a badge and pretend like it’s a cop which idk why they don’t do more of

my bad, i wasn't aware of the dates but was presented with some clashing information so i was confused. i should've looked harder at the info. i'm not conservative, but was just confused because i didn't take him to be someone to go back on his words or promises

So instead of name calling like a goofball how about you offer information about what defunding implies? Less funding means less police, which means less available officers, increased cold investigations, etc.

why do i owe you an explanation of anything lol. you have two thumbs, you can do research on this. there are many different forms of community safety nets
