I don’t oppose this. But I’d be ok with casinos. Not the ease of access to sports betting.

I am morally opposed to the existence of Las Vegas. That’s unrelated to the gambling thing gambling is bad too I guess.

pretty much, and I don’t think it should be illegal to bet $20 against your friend on a sports game but the prizepicks parlay shit is pure rot

in theory I am too, but from a practical view of the state of things I see it as “people are probably going to do these things regardless so relegating them to a specific well-regulated area is currently our best option”

In seriousness about gambling I just think it’s gross in general but sports betting feels like one of the worst examples because of the corruption and organized crime it can bring. Like if we need to ban any type of gambling it’s probably that

yeah it’s extremely predatory towards sports fans who are getting bored with just watching and want that extra dopamine kick

Yeah and the advertising for it is like inescapable and everywhere. Mobile gambling in general and ads being all over the place make a gambling addition much harder to escape than when gambling was only limited to specific locations. Plus with sports betting, you end up with the rigging of matches and threatening of players.

exactly, no one who orchestrates that is actually interested in the well being of americans. china has banned pretty much all gambling for that reason
