Excuse me, this is insanely on topic. Karaoke holds political significance as a tool for political commentary, a site of protest, a method for building community among marginalized groups, and even as a means of government propaganda. Its casual and accessible nature can allow for the expression of political ideas in a less confrontational manner than traditional protest.

Karaoke has been used to voice political complaints in a more lighthearted or accessible manner. For example, in 2008, an artist created a "protest telephone karaoke" line in Philadelphia, where callers could record new lyrics to Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" and send them to a politician.
