Unpopular opinion in stoner community, but smoking longer term and multiple times a day ain’t it. Like you live in ā€œthe fogā€, feelings are numb, derealization, you don’t feel fully connected to life/people

I disagree. I smoke daily and multiple times almost every day. I don’t feel in a fog and do take t breaks. I still live my life and feel very in tune to the world around me. Smoking helps me stop from overthinking so I AM able to connect with the people around me instead of spending hours worried if what I said made them hate me.

Heavy daily smoker for 5 years and I’m finally taking a break for the first time. Iet me just say it’s really damn easy to justify and romanticize weed… like yes it helps me sm mentally and physically and always puts me in a good mood. But that framing kept me on it heavy. If we’re being honest with ourselves, while it’s helpful it’s also a dependency. we ignore the downsides for the obvious upsides. but it’s still a drug you’re dependent on no matter how much I’ve normalized it to myself.

Just speaking my mind… I used to smoke a lot for like 2 almost even 3 years. And I am 2 months clean and I am realizing there aren’t many benefits, if any at all. And I think I smoke here and there isn’t that bad but being dependent and needing even a little everyday isn’t good and should not be normalized.

I agree! I can admit i am dependent on it and it’s an issue i have with myself sometimes but i also know that if im not smoking weed then my only other option is meds as in pills. When you are using it medically you kind of do have to be dependent. If i were to tell most i was taking meds bc my body needed them to be better you wouldn’t see it as a bad thing. i think many forget weed is used medically!! I read that you mentioned it has no other effect for you than being high which makes sense to

why you feel that way and in that sense it really is a dependency. i’m glad that you feel better without it and i hope your sober journey goes well! it definitely depends on the situation and person at the end of the day tho. weed is a great source of medicine. dependency or not some people really do need it. even if it’s to eat bc without their bodies can’t (literally an illness not from weed). the spectrum is big and at least it’s not a dependency to something harder imo

It’s cause we smoke to not face reality and not face the problems. Smoking calms that’s and makes shit easier. But when you face reality for what it is and find a way to organize the chaos and accept everything you can reach a different type of calmness that’s is dependent on anything.

I’m one of those that needs it to eat bc of a chronic stomach condition. It stimulates my appetite and gets rid of my nausea enough so I can eat without throwing up. And since I went to using it once daily I have had no nausea (besides an occasional flare). There is no medication that can treat my condition that I can take (bad reaction to the only med available), so I accept being dependent on weed. Like I know it can become problematic, and it has at times, so I try to use it strictly as a med

I understand it. But you get these stomach issues from smoking ode. I have multiple friends that’s need to smoke to eat. One had some stomach issue and had medical attention to try to help. But let me ask you a question when did this stomach condition start. It’s cause your body is dependent and being highis your new normal. The endocannabaniod system is responsible for regulating hunger. So it’s literally just that. When I stopped smoking I would gag to eat and I barely ate for a good two weeks

If it made me worse, then why am I no longer vomiting every single day??? I’m not going into depth about my person health history, but my stomach issue was caused by a different health condition.
