Anyone else addicted and isn’t ruining their life? Like I just started a brand new job making enough money to live comfortably, schools doing good, etc

I think there’s a difference between addicted and dependent. At least in my eyes, an addiction is something that seriously impedes on your wellbeing. Like I’m dependent on weed to sleep, but that doesn’t impact my daily functions negatively. But some would say I’m addicted, and I’m doing just fine regardless

I would also say I’m addicted to the plant, but I don’t want to quit. Maybe I’ll cut down on smoking and switch more to edibles for lung health, but as of now I’m doing great. I have the best gpa I’ve ever had and I’m doing good at my internship

tbh i would just worry about lung health 😭 my friend is having some lung issues from smoking so much and it’s scary

Yes! I work over 60 hours and week and smoking kinda lets me relax at the end of the day so I can keep pushing through the week 😭😭

I wouldn’t say im dependent either in the sense of some things. Sure occasionally if im sober, I’ll need to smoke in order to eat a good meal. But that’s the only time I’d say I’d “need” it. I can sleep just fine without it, I can eat without it though sometimes may need it. It’s just, weird. Though, I do agree with what you have to say, I think that’s a good way to see it.

It’s a self medication if you use it correctly and with enough self control. Especially if you’re not smoking it, I don’t really see any negative health impacts (unless you’re prone to drug induced psychosis, but obviously that’s not common at all). But if you’re someone who’s driving, going to work, or doing other important things consistently high, it’s officially an addiction to me. Also ignoring other basic needs to afford weed/whatever drug. If I’m broke and out of weed, I’m just sober atp

The fact you said that with the work, driving etc & finance I wouldn’t say im addicted then. Sure I may show up high here and there, but it is never enough to make me lazy or not work at all. Driving high isnt scary for me when im driving, it’s the other people that make me not want to go high. I’d never get to the point where im questioning “Do i get another 8th or get $30 worth of food for the next few days instead”. Appreciate you a lot for your input. 🙏

For sure! I’m lucky enough to work in a career where they never drug test. As my coworkers have put it before, “they don’t drug test us otherwise no one would stay working in this field” 💀 sometimes you just need the little whimsy of a high here and there to keep things interesting and enjoyable

Mind DMing me? This is entirely unrelated to your post but I’m thinking about getting into mechanic or other automotive work and I have some questions

What’s up with them if I may ask? A couple other friends of mine have managed to give themselves pneumonia from ice in a bong (might not have actually been the leading cause but it’s too much of a coincidence to not be a reason) 😂

One of my friends developed blood clots in their lungs, most likely from smoking cigarettes and weed since 12, tho they won’t admit that’s the cause

Edibles or tinctures. Anything in your lungs except air is bad for them

There are also skin patches. But you gotta be careful, the first time I tried one I accidentally slept for 12 hours in the middle of the day 💀 they definitely help with any muscle pain though! I pulled something in my back the day of a concert, slapped a sativa patch directly on it, and didn’t feel even an ounce of pain
